Mental health

Good mental health and wellbeing can enhance every area of your life including your physical health, relationships, and work-life.

About mental health

When you are undertaking therapy for sexual, gender or fertility issues you may have other related mental health concerns.

Your therapist Katie can assist you to work through these concerns which might include:

  • Stress

  • Depression,

  • Anxiety

  • Grief and loss

  • Generally struggling with uncomfortable emotions, negative thinking or daily life (i.e. interpersonal relationships; professional life etc.)

Sometimes Katie will suggest working on one issue first, before progressing to another area to ensure your therapy is most effective.

Good mental health and wellbeing will enhance every area of your life.

Eating disorders

Over 1 million Australians are living with an eating disorder. Less than a quarter of those receive treatment or support.

During pregnancy many women struggle with their changing body shape. Pregnancy can also be very triggering for women who have previously had treatment for an eating disorder.

One in five people who identify as gender diverse experience eating disorder behaviours.

Body image issues or body dysphoria can also have a significant impact upon intimate relationships.

Katie has specialised and advanced training in treating eating disorders, disorded eating and body image issues utilising Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy for Eating Disorders (CBT-E).
